Yes, but, if Ireland leaves, it might be because he wants a true GM job and not be involved in the Saints current weird structure. So, I say this: the Saints should have ended this weird structure and promoted Ireland to GM. They didn't, so, now we'll see whether the Bears offer of GM will be more attractive to Ireland than staying in this weird Saints FO structure.

Maybe the man wants to be a real GM. He does not hold that Office here in NOLA.

The Saints should have created the FO structure in which Ireland taking a GM job elsewhere would be a lateral move. They didn't. If Ireland takes a GM job elsewhere, it would be a Promotion, not a lateral move. IMHO, that makes his move to be GM elsewhere more likely.

You want to minimize your exposure to the risk of your people being poached. I'm not sure that the Saints have done that.
