Go to an independent dentist, not LA Dental Center or Delta Dental or whatever.
I go to a small practice in Chalmette. Husband and wife are both dentists. Wightman Family Dental. I hadn't gone to a dentist in like 6 years until I finally went at end of 2020. They filled cavities and said come back. Been back twice since then for regular cleanings. No upsell at all, not much of a wait, in and out in like 35 min.
They do take my dental insurance but I believe they don't take a number of plans.

Thanks for the advice, but with my insurance plans I am limited. My mom has gone to local practices and she complained about them the most with the upsells and prices. The last dentist I went to was a local guy and they tried selling me and in fact did sell me shite I didn't need. So I'm trying a regional "chain". There are a lot of dentists within 5 miles of my house so I have options if I don't like this new one.

Yea I went from a local Dentist on Bluebonnet to La Dental in Gonzales when we moved out here. EVERY Single time they charge me $20 or $50 extra for some shite I didn't ask for that my regular cleaning doesn't cover. They have me on my back and mouth all open and go "now i'm going to do [insert upsell procedure]. is that okay?"
And I didn't realize i was authorizing these extra services each time. Took me 1.5 years(3 visits) to catch it.
frick that bullshite.

Wightman Family Dental.
Same here. Dr. Courtney is great. Both LSU grads too.
