Musically, or literally?

If its the former then obviously, if you're insinuating the latter then you really don't know the politics of those guys

Haggard would have been the correct choice for that.

apparently you don't either

Those guys leaned to the left and were true liberals that believed in fighting against "the man" and freedom and doing what they felt like doing

Isbell is a progressive bitch wants to control what people do or say

Haggard and Cash are song writing powerhouses, poets. Both wrote controversial songs that shaped American music. Isbell writes music that panders to a particular audience that doesn't make him stand out among his peers.

fricking this. Everybody listens to an old Hank Jr. rail about politics and he is wildly conservative. I don't think prime Bocephus was exactly a beacon of conservative values. Cash? Hell no.

George Jones I have no idea. Prime Jones was a drunk who was better served to stay quiet during those years.

Owens? BUCK Owens? California cowboy? Better not dig too deep on his politics. I don't pretend to know them, but I can assume some may be disappointed.

Separate the music from the musician. Until the politics bleeds into music. Then it is fair game.
