Small Solar Project Questions

I've decided to not run a power line to my small portable building in the back yard due to the length of cable and having to dig in yard. I'm thinking of installing a small solar panel or two to power a some small lights and maybe a trickle charger for mower/lawnmower parked in there. Does 200 watts sound sufficient for that type of use and should I just buy a kit that has a MPPT controller? I'm totally new to this and it seems much easier than running electricity when I won't be using it too much.

Sounds like 200W would be fine, but you are going to need batteries and an inverter as well.
If you use 12V lighting, you could omit the inverter.
I recently put up a 400W system, and used mostly renogy products, which I've been pleased with so far.

Geauxkart has a good idea - check out some camping equipment sites for 12V solar panels, lights, etc.
Battery Tender makes solar powered battery chargers as well.

You could look into solar generators, they have charger, inverter, and battery all in one. It could also be used as backup power supply during grid outage.

That is a good idea, I'm looking at that now.
