Saban won the SEC at both LSU and Alabama in his second year. Urban Meyer did the same at Florida.
So great coaches can see great results in year two.

I think we should throttle down our expectations. Success in year 2 is possible, but Kelly should be given 3 full years before an honest accounting can really take place, with measurable improvement from year to year.
I'm not surprised to see us not diving in the deep end of the NIL this offseason, for a number of reasons. First the buyout expense and a top 5 recruiting class in the same season is a whole lot of resources to expend. Secondly, let the new staff identify and recruit their players. Once that occurs, Im sure we will spend smartly.
I think we will see an enormous levels of growth from year 1 to year 2, but the growth from years 2 to 3 will be in orders of magnitude. I just hope our fanbase can endure this first year without cannibalizing itself.

He made the SECCG at Bama his 2nd year but lost to Florida won it the next year
