Like, how is Griff supposed to handle this? None of this stuff is in his hands anymore, anyway. It's all in the hands of the doctors and trainers.

"The Pelicans’ statement said Williamson will be “remaining under the supervision of the Pelicans medical staff.” Williamson and the Pelicans medical staff collaborated on a rehabilitation plan, and the two sides will communicate frequently while he’s there. But no Pelicans medical staff member accompanied Williamson on the trip, sources said."

This stuck out to me, but still kinda seems like a non story

How is he supposed to handle it? Just don’t say:

“he will rehab away from the team at this time so he can focus on the task at hand.”

This isn’t rocket science or some mathematical equation. It’s been half a year since his surgery and they haven’t had to say that. Just say he’s rehabbing and trying to get back ASAP. Or any number of the thousands of things said the thousands of times this exact situation has happened in sports. Don’t say Zion is rehabbing away from the team. That is beyond dumb to release as a statement. There was no need.
