LSU WR playing QB gave a quote in a press conference that will live forever after a 7 out of 11 performance for 138 yards and 3 TDs. He threw 11 passes and 3 were touchdowns.

He became the third player in LSU history to throw 3+ TDs in a bowl game (Joe Burrow x3, Matt Flynn)

Jontre Kirklin said after the game: "We are fighting Tigers. We don't back down from anyone. If we have 11, we are going to play- that’s our mindset!”

Jontre Kirklin on his career: “Amazing. It was a journey. Getting recruited as a cornerback. Playing cornerback for two years. Bouncing around at receiver. Scout team QB. Back to corner for a bowl game. Back to QB tonight. I’ve played everything. I’m blessed and honored.”

He may be able to be a Russell Shepard type of player in the NFL. He certainly has some options and athletic ability. He will do well at the combine or his pro day.

Kirklin was really let down by the coaching staff. Instead of playing with house money, Peetz tried to insulate him and run over and over. The kid clearly had the capacity to make some throws and they should have just thrown their chips down and opened it up.

I tell you what. Lutcher high school has produced 2 of the more likeable Tigers ever. Jontre Kirkland and Jarvis Landry TYFYS

If i owned a company or were in a position to hire him, he would have a job, no questions asked. Says a lot about him (and everyone else who played last night)

Meanwhile, Nuss was probably talking to the Gueydan Gazette about how he plans to be a leader to these men next tear, LOL. All while trying to find the right solvent to get the eye black off his face and a small hang nail from holding the clipboard, while watching his "teammates " flounder without a qb.
