I know Kelly will call the offense but it’s a REALLY tough time to sell LSU fans on being excited about Denbrock. Gross hire

Finally, a coach dedicated to teaching our QBs. Make no mistake, at the college level it’s ALL about QB play.

Good. About time LSU has an offense where the HC, OC and staff all believe in and run the same offense. They might actually start to have some continuity around there.

LSU, will need superior talent in order to be successful with this conservative ball control approach.. Hopefully the defense will bring it, because we will not be winning any shootouts..

Anything offensive from Tech is good historically speaking. Had a shite year this year but the head coach just got booted. Sloan was I think suspected as a potential in house replacement for HC, too. I'm very down for it.

Joe Sloan was a lights-out recruiter at the G5 level. I think he’ll also recruit lights-out at LSU.

Why would Thamel release this news? They tell him before the schools and players?

It don’t matter who we hire as OC with the amount of talent that is at LSU!! Mike D will do just fine with these athletes! Happy New Year! Let’s Geaux!!!

I am curious why Kelly took the offensive coordinator title away from Denbrock at Notre Dame in 2015 when Kelly hired Mike Sanford Jr. from Boise St. Denbrock stayed on staff as the assistant head coach and wide receiver's coach.

Notre Dame's offense was pretty good in 2014 under Denbrock. They beat LSU in the Music City Bowl 31-28 and averaged 35.6 points per game. Denbrock remained the assistant head coach / WR coach until Cincinnati hired him as offensive coordinator in 2017.

It's strange that Kelly would now turn to someone who he previously demoted. Maybe Kelly is impressed with Denbrock's results since he left Notre Dame for Cincinnati.

Looks like LSU should’ve been calling Utah’s offensive coordinator, they gave OSU all they could handle.
