I don't get to do it as much these days, but those 3-4 hour pick up basketball sessions in college and a couple years after were the best. it's like nothing exists outside of the gym.

Overnighting offshore tuna fishing (running boat on those rare 1-2 foot sea days). Seeing all the drillships and platforms lit up at night. Duck hunting although it is a lot of work but very rewarding.

Reading and walking. I used to play chess a lot and run a lot and want to get back to those in 2022. New Years resolutions.

Planning my next Disney World trip.

So many dining, admission media and lodging choices. So many new things to learn.

6 AM gym sessions. I put in headphones and pretend to listen to music so nobody will bother me.

Midnight blunt smoking.

Playing golf as a single at twilight.

I used to drive between Nawlins and Laffy a lot years ago when I was commuting to Miami, it was incredible to me how many people I would see driving on I-10 at 60,70,80+ mph reading either a newspaper or a book

Cycling. Specifically gravel/ bike path (not road).

I get up in the mornings and grind out 15-20 miles at about 05:30 and my mind is clear, I’m focused, and my daily anxiety demons are at bay.

I get a similar effect when I go to the gym or go on a run, but nothing like the bike.

there's a woman in our neighborhood (you don't want pics) who walks and reads at the same time. she weaves all over the street. People at time drive very fast down that street. could end very badly.

Fly Fishing... Has a lot of different aspects to enjoy. There are no ugly places to fly fish. The pursuit has brought me to some beautiful and scenic locales.

Couldn’t agree more.

The Loop Trail is a very good trail. I day hiked it a few years ago-- that was a bit much for me, though. I was beat for a few days.

The Backbone Trail in Kisactchie is also a very good day hike or overnight.

Audiobooks, baw!

Audiobooks/podcasts for walking/driving and hard copy at night. Always wanted to like Kindle/tablet reading, but I just can't do it.

Model railroading. It's a money pit, but there are endless possibilities for what you can do with a layout. There is something relaxing about it.

They call it "the world's greatest hobby."

Crossword puzzles
Yes. If you are a crossword person, I have a recommendation. Perfect font/square size, spiral-bound, good-quality paper upon which to write, and great puzzles. In short, these are the best crossword puzzle books I have ever bought.
