He is smarter than a lot of us. Especially with regards to this topic.
He has no sense of limits on what medicine or science can accomplish, however. And he believes that public health could have solved the issue if given enough power.

Maybe on this topic but he acts like a child when someone disagrees with him. As I pointed out yesterday, that is not the sign of an emotionally stable adult.

Yes, this is one area where he loses me. That and the fact that he seems to think the vaccine is infallible despite the mounting evidence and constantly moving goal post. A smart person would at some point begin to shift their beliefs unless, as you said, they are 100% invested in it.
