The only thing you can trust your insurance company to do is for them to try and pay you as little as possible.

Assume the worst with them.

They are your enemy.

That is why I hired the public adjuster and it feels like they are the same as insurance company. Almost two months have passed and no estimate completed by my public adjuster.

Insurance will pay as little as possible and the mortgage company will make your life a living hell by holding the money and allocating it as they see fit. Add in how difficult it is to get a contractor to actually do work and you have a situation where if you aren’t raising ten shades of hell you will never be made whole unless you come out of pocket (which you are already having to do). I feel for you my man. It sucks
