Back in 97 when we played Notre Dame in the Liberty Bowl, I was in Tigerband and we had the option of getting back to campus and taking the buses to the game or just meeting in Shreveport. Coming from West Monroe, Shreveport was a shorter shot, so I just did that. The school paid you a stipend for gas/travel if you took that option, so I actually made a small profit, as well.

Football players had the same option. I, too, drove in from WM so it was a no brainer.
Fun fact, one day after bowl practice in Shreveport for that game, Thomas Dunson and I got pulled over (he was driving). Fortunately the cop recognized us and he got off with a warning.
Good times.

You did good work in that game. Greatest rushing performance in a bowl game by a LSU back. Would have loved to have seen what he could have accomplished as the feature back. I met Thomas Dunson when him and Shane O'Toole came by our tailgate after a game the following year. Shane had been roommates with one of your walk on back ups. I know you remember, we have discussed this. Dunson was a good dude who caught way too much shite. it wasn't his fault he was being forced to play a position he wasn't physically capable of playing.
