The saddest part of this story is that Yahoo deemed it newsworthy. Some random chick with terrible taste and little to no sense of what is socially appropriate has a bad date because the guy doesn’t like her outfit? And now the entire world needs to know about it? Seriously?

This was why I thought it was an appropriate topic for the poliboard. This “news” story is further indication of how “victimization” has morphed into a form of seeking fame and social credibility in our culture.

In fact, such stories diminish the value of the term “victim” itself. If everyone is victim, no one is a victim.
