Patience wouldn’t be an issue. It will be a steady build so I’m sure one will pop up between the time I decide on something and start the build to completion. Really appreciate the recommendations.

Like Batman said, they aren't really going to pop up. You'll need to set up alerts, etc. High end cards never go in stock for longer than a few minutes at a time these days.
And as for the parts list, that was kind of a quick and dirty throw together. There's room on some components to cut corners from there, and there is room to punch up the budget as well, particularly with the case and the motherboard. But I wanted to see what I could churn out for around $2,000 these days.

dude, by the time one "pops up", a whole new generation of GPUs will be out. probably 2 generations.

you don't have the slightest idea of what's going on right now. your best bet is to just buy a prebuilt, and call it good.
