Assuming my current place falls through, where do most people stay? It will be Sunday and Monday night.

Be ready to pay out the wazoo for a roach motel. We dropped around $400 a night for a quality inn that had a wasp nest and no shower curtain

Are the places better in Aiken, SC?

I went in 2018 and stayed on Sunday and Monday as well. We had Monday practice round tickets. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Augusta/Fort Gordon. It was about a 10 minute Uber from AGNC. Rates were about $500-600 per night from what I can remember. It was a very nice place. Not sure what this guy is talking about with wasp nests lol.
If you're going to the Masters you can't really think cheap. Everything in and around that town is massively jacked up during Master's week because they know they can get people to pay anything.

We are doing an Airbnb. We are getting a lot more for our money than we would doing multiple hotel rooms.

I am less worried about money than I am about cleanliness.

How long did y'all stay on the grounds? I am trying to schedule a flight out back home. It looks like the latest I can get is 11:00 AM. That means leaving Augusta around 6:00 AM. I am wondering if my not be better to drive from Augusta Monday afternoon to Atlanta to catch the flight?

Flew in to Augusta Sunday early afternoon, got settled, then went on the main strip around the course to eat and see the sights. Met John Daly at Hooters and ate at the steak restaurant where a lot of the players go (can't remember the name).
Monday spent the entire day at Augusta. Got there early (7/8am) and went to the gift shop first, then walked the grounds, followed a few guys, posted up behind a few greens. Took everything in. Didn't leave until 6:00pm or so.
Took a flight out of Augusta Tuesday morning.
Bottom line is you don't want to be worrying about travel on the day that you have tickets for. Trust me, you want to devote that entire day to the Masters and not worry about anything else. The experience is everything it's hyped up to be and more.

We always drive to Atlanta Sunday night, stay at one of the airport hotels, then leave in the AM. Better than fighting Monday traffic in Augusta & ATL.

That is what I am thinking.

I've Stayed at the West Bank Inn for last 16yrs...after being on the wait list for 5 yrs...West Bank Inn is 1.5 miles from the Augusta parking lot and its clean....most of Patron's staying there have been there for long time as in late 90's there where only 10-12 hotels to choose from in Augusta...now they have 30...Courtyard by Marriott is owned by the Coca-Cola distributor in Augusta and all Coca-Cola guests for tournament stay there. West Bank Inn will run you 300-325 nite and it's well worth it. The Patel's are good people. I'm booked for 2022 5 nites..

I’d just use choice Prividgles or similar for Augusta area $189. Choice or quality inn. My iHG account rooms were around $289/night.

I retired from CCNA.
We would stay in a private residence that was leased that week.
