What is your estimate of a typical SEC NIL budget per year?

This is all so new...I mean, do you think Bama, T A$M, Georgia spend 2 million per year? More? ALOT more???

You think the school is paying them directly?

No telling, just bc a guy gets money from a single NIL contract doesn't mean he's only getting that money. Not to mention programs have 75 scholarship players to pay and you'll probably start to see really good players go the walkon route and get money from the bigger schools.

A&M’s boosters*
LSU’s boosters didn’t spend a dime, unfortunately

How much you spending since you are bleeding all over the board about how other people spend their money? You are a broken fricking record.

Yes, well that is a made up number.

he never said that, but the school might have to give it a nudge to get it going and organized. Seems Woodward, TAF, and boosters were caught off guard by this and are now playing catch up. Of course the money has to be funneled through NIL so called deals. SEems like a charity or foundation of some sort, in the way Texas set it up, would be a good way to get it going.

$2 million per year probably doesn't even get you in the conversation. I had estimated about $16.7 million to be competitive with the big players in this.

You think that is remotely sustainable?

Used to they recruited with women. Now they can buy their own with NIL money.

exactly, there is no "SEC NIL budget". It is done from boosters through Companies, Foundations, or supposed Charities. Still would be interesting to know exactly how much each schools players are receiving from NIL. I guess no way to really know what those figures are except from speculation and the little that has made it to the press. The only thing that I have seen that is known is that Alabama, Texas AM, and U of Texas got out in front of this and everyone else is playing catch up. Also been reported that Texas (via boosters through a foundation) is paying $100k per player on the roster. Also that each OL in the OL room (meaning including walk-on OL's) is receiving an additional $50k per year. Have to think that each position group, has or will have shortly, it's own bonus NIL deals. Also star players must have some amount above and beyond those amounts. Also just logical to think there has to be some type of signing bonuses for recruits and transfers to get them in the program.

Do you not know the money does not come from the school? How is this so misunderstood.

20M by next year, unfortunately

yes, it is just going to rachet up each year. The big players are going to keep trying to up each other like the cold war arms race. Problem is that the NCAA appears to be in no position to control this thing.
