For the Tecmo fans, Tecmobowl.org publishes an updated roster every year. You can download it and play it on an emulator. (And if you're really good with that kind of thing, write it to a chip and place it in a cartridge.)

Its crazy that Mike Tysons punchout only sold 3 million copies whereas Mario 3 sold 11 million.

Which was actually crazy for back then. But Mario 3 may have been what really kicked off everything as we have come to know it.

Baseball Simulator 1.000 is a good under the radar one.

You could play a straightforward ball game, or you could play in outer space and use powerups.

Baseball Simulator 1.000

Never played that one but my neighbor had baseball stars and for the time (1989) the league/team creation engine was incredible.

Baseball simulator you could edit stats as well and rename players. I had it and Baseball stars. Both were good games, but simulator just was a bit better for me.

I’d get New York and own you at little league baseball. The Saul/ward combo is lethal. The Peter / Albert/ Fred combo for Canada is pretty filthy too.
