If Lee continues to play this well for the rest of the year

What does the future hold for Jordan Jefferson?

transfer, can't see him staying here to be the "running qb". Wish he coulda redshirted but oh well.

or the better question is what is Russel Shepard going to do when he comes in?? be a QB or move to Wide Out?

Imo, we need to at least let JJ have a Spring Practice in order to start seeing what he can do. Who knows? JJ could still beat out JL for the starting job. If not, who's to say that JJ won't be the "change of pace" qb, with Russell Shepard moving to another position?
Way too early to tell. Heck, two weeks ago most LSU fans didn't think Lee was going to be very good.

Shep can redshirt in 2009. Get in some games in in 2010, be a backup in 2011, and then have 2 full years to run the show.

With Shepard coming next year who obviously would be the best running QB do you think it cvould be wise to redshirt Jefferson so at least he could have a chance to start his senior year?

We are going to need to get a QB to redshirt for Lee's backup if he continues to play well.
This time last year, we were asking, "Is Lee going to transfer? I can't see him sitting behind RP for two years."

sorry to whichever qb doesn't get a lot of PT. Its a shame either way. But geaux tigers! whoever plays the most, just make my Tigers look good

What would Chris Garrett have to say about this? Don't forget him.

You are right, but in this debate I think the assumption was that Shep was the future (beats everyone else out).

True. The future is always uncertain and while I doubt Lee will be as foolish as RP, things happen in life. You cannot go through several years with only one QB who can credibly start for the team

I feel really bad for him. I don't think he'll ever have a chance to start at LSU unless he redshirts and waits till his Senior season especially if Jefferson stays at LSU.

Sheppard might not play QB at LSU.

Way too small of a chance he doesn't.

Huh? I'm not going to say he won't be a QB for LSU, but there's a very real chance that he switches positions.

Once again, very, very small chance he does. He'll be the running QB starting next year more than likely.

This is what we'd call one of those good problems.
