…in the big press box in the sky, feverishly pecking out the headline—“Herman saga comes full circle back to Baton Rouge”
Then the lead: After dashing the hopes of LSU faithful in that before time, when he grabbed the reins of the Texas Longhorns, Tom Herman seemed poised for gridiron greatness.
But Herman’s star quickly fizzled and he
was dumped in Austin’s gutter like a pail of micro brewed IPA, and forgotten. Until LSU’s new coach, the legendary Brian Kelly, reached out with a mighty hand of hope and redemption.
Yes, Herman will ride again as an Offensive Coordinator for the Fighting Tigers. It is a union for the ages, and one that will live in the hearts of Tiger fans forever.
So before I hit send on the story Shuga, just tell me it’s true.

Do you remember the annual Grantland Rice Bowl that was played in BR's Memorial Stadium?

For when the One Great Score comes to mark against your name, He writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the game… Grantland Rice

There are few athletes today that reflect this quote. It is, was, and will always be about integrity.

I wonder how many on this board actually know who Grantland Rice and what an "Underwood" was.

My Dad so loved and quoted Grantland Rice....."and when that one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he notes not wh'er you won or lost but how you played the game.!"
