quote:It was a comparison to showcase how the old man had zero chance of winning a physical confrontation.
But he didn't have a gun.
quote:I don't see how easy that is, this doesn't make sense if you think it proves me wrong lol. it doesn't matter who completed the act, it would still not be smart. Why are you pretending if it were your wife or my wife, that would then make it the smart thing to do to follow the crazy, unhinged guy?
And your wife would have done the same thing as the old man (see how easy that is??)
quote:Cool, let's make it as direct as possible. Do you think it was a good idea and helped the situation for the old man to follow the crazy unhinged, guy? Simple yes or no will do.
You're speaking in tailor-made hypotheticals to fit your argument.

It can also easily be argued that the old man was looking for a physical confrontation when he followed the guy,
Then the old guy should’ve thrown the first punch. Plus I’m pretty sure Suarez had threatened to punch the old guy before old guy followed hothead to the van

quote:Notice how they will all just call names and flip out, but when you ask them direction questions, they wont answer?
I’m not sure how anyone can argue that it was a good idea for the old man to step in
That's the funny part. They absolutely agree with you, but they're too far into their stance to concede they were wrong, so they feel they have to fight the good fight and tell you how terrible you are for saying the old man should not have followed the unhinged lunatic, which is only about as logical of a stance you could take about the old man following him.

You don’t know what frame of mind someone is in when you come across them like that. Obviously he was looking to start shite, but wasn’t harming anybody. That is a time where you mind your own business and the dude goes on about his way, and you do too.

Add to that you don't have to do anything special to be promoted to O-3, it's a simple time-in-grade promotion. most officers get there by just not punching old men out.
And O-4 is now definitely out of the question.

quote:Or don't follow the unhinged, crazy guy.
Then the old guy should’ve thrown the first punch.
quote:He did. Based on that, do you think it was a good idea for the little, old man to then follow the guy flying off the handle who is much bigger than him? Was that a smart decision?
Plus I’m pretty sure Suarez had threatened to punch the old guy before old guy followed hothead to the van

TDM was the initial aggressor. He went over there in an aggressive manor, instigated and escalated an entire situation, verbally assaulted the man, threatened him with violence, swung at his face (whatever you want to call that), sorry but all fault bets are off at that point. This isn't a 100% argument needing to be made, TDM dug his own grave.

None of that changes the fact that the old man following him was not a wise decision. Do you think that was a good idea? You can't say "it doesn't matter" because that doesn't make any sense at all, it 100% matters because it happened.
Both can be true, they are not mutually exclusive.

well so many variables. old man may have a lot of pride about the stance he took. maybe his jaw getting sewn up will help him lose some weight and he gets a few years of added life to watch his grand kids play some more travel bawl. I don't understand in what context you want me to subjectively answer a question that you admit its relevance is slim to none.

The joke, I liked. That was funny.
But you know the answer to the question is "no" but you can't bring yourself to say it. But again, you know.
quote:It sure as shite ain't slim to none to the old man.

Can I see some links to people claiming it was?

It's multiple times probably on each page.

Doesn’t matter what kind of decision it was - Suarez shouldn’t have punched him. Old Man can yell and follow all he wants - Suarez cannot touch old man. That’s basically the law.

Yea, I'd be a little bitch and not post these things that obviously exist too.

The deployment part is probably true, but he is not an ALO.
