It’s not like we had a choice with Cp3 or AD. Things honestly went better with those 2 and it still resulted with them asking out eventually.

I’d argue it would break the cycle if we traded one before they officially demand out.

Zion is 0-3 in making a positive impact on a season. We have enough data. If Zion is your best player. You aren’t making the playoffs. We might as well trade him while there are still some teams and franchises in the league that value him.

It’s embarrassing that we got Zion, an AD trade package, had an opportunity to trade Jrue, Lonzo and Redick for something real, and we are a bottom 5 team in the league.

Meanwhile: Teams that selected behind us in the Zion draft and/or high in last year’s draft didn’t have the same advantages and are kicking our asses in the standings.

Memphis, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Phoenix, Minnesota, Chicago, Golden State, etc

Why can every other team but us and maybe Orlando and Sacramento not figure out how to field a respectable team? And let’s keep in mind, Orlando and Sac at least have an excuse of not winning the lottery and not having AD and Jrue trade packages to help accelerate their rebuilds.

Griffin and Co have literally been the worst front office in the league over the past 3 years and it is not even close.

Utah did that with Deron Williams and it didn't help them much. They got Derrick Favors and 2 1sts that became Enes Kanter and Gorgui Dieng.

If the Pels choose to trade Zion preemptively it will be because he's damaged goods meaning a bad return. If Zion demands out it means he will limit potential trade partners reducing the return.

A wild card in all of this is what rules will be in the next CBA to change player empowerment? All of the chatter suggests that will be a focus of the next deal. Unless you think Zion's never going to be healthy you kick the can down the road as long as you can and maybe the rules on trading Zion will be more in your favor 3 years from now.

Memphis hasn’t won a playoff series since drafting Ja. They have enough data. They should trade him for a package.
