If you hire me to cook a gourmet meal, don’t be telling me what recipe and groceries I need to use.

Don’t shite on a plate and tell me it’s a gourmet meal.
Run the spread. 2019 was the blueprint

No, but if I'm paying someone to cook me a gourmet meal, I'm choosing the menu. So the metaphor doesn't quite work.

Wrong...it works here too...yes you hired someone to cook you a gourmet meal, and the menu you chose was LSU, but that is where it stops...if you think you are going to choose the ingredients then tell him how to prepare those ingredients, well you are going to get shite, not your gourmet meal...

Again, if I'm paying for a gourmet meal, I'm choosing more than just the restaurant, or even the chef. It's a silly metaphor.
ETA: Even using his own comparison, Bill Parcells was also a shitty shopper and recipe maker (i.e., GM). He was a good cook (i.e., coach). There is a big difference between a chef and a line cook.

Lol. Just to let you in on a secret, this post wasn’t about cooking or Bill Parcells. Let me simplify it. Kelly was hired to turn around a football program in free fall and he was hired because it was believed he could do that. His resume says he can. He makes the decisions on which coaches he wants to retain and hire. He and the other coaches he hires begin where they are and formulate the plan on how to proceed. If all the critics know so much about what should be done, send out your impressive resumes and wait to get the word on an interview.

You're just not getting it.
And furthermore, you're not paying Kelly so your comment is retarded as well.

You don’t get it man. That’s ok. Reread the thread a few times until the lightbulb goes on.

How does saying "That's not a great metaphor" equate to thinking "I have it all figured out"?
