I think CBK wanted to hire him for dc at nd. At least that was the rumor.

Just looking at his stops Cooks has some broad experience across the B1G and Big XII (and ND). Including Co-DC in CBK's early years at ND (NCG). So he obviously thinks highly of him.

I would guess S coach if Raymond retained, all DBs if not.

I can also see "shadow staff" until a coaching position opens up. I think that might be what he was doing at ND since last year.

But 16 or so years coaching at the P5 level (with a few at less than P5 level) is nothing to sneeze at.
