It says in the article that they don’t since they don’t require you to register at the embassy, but it’s got to be far higher than Afghanistan. I’m guessing around 30,000-40,000 or so. And I don’t think Russia has any interest in taking Americans hostage and will let them go as a sign of “good faith” (same for China if they invade Taiwan), but that’s still not worth the risk of you staying behind and getting bombed in your apartment.
