Many of you are on here lamenting some of the old staff not being retained and worrying who might scoop them up. We wanted changed and we needed change so sit, back, stop worrying and let BK do what he’s done literally everywhere he has coached. Win big!

I agree

When Saban left, Miles kept some coaches intact
When Miles left, O kept some coaches intact

New blood in the room is needed

The new HC should be allowed to hire whomever he wants. That said, complete change simply for the sake of change, may not fully be the best course of action.

The LSU program wasn't/isn't broken. It was just being led by the football equivalent of a barley functioning retard. One that hired OCs on the basis someone told him they could run the "Joe Brady Offense"...even though he could not exactly explain what the "Joe Brady" offense actually entailed. And one that once he was released from the shackles of Aranda's "passive" defense IMMEDIATELY tanked the LSU defense into one of the worst in the nation while trying to implement his "Pete Carroll fan fiction" defense...only to watch the defense suddenly return to a dominant unit the very moment he stopped dictating the approach.

Just like when Miles was fired in 2016, some of the assistants on the current staff have proven to be valuable members of the program. Simply dumping them without any consideration as to whether or not they could continue to be valuable assets would be foolish.

I would like some of the old staff to remain. Brad Davis and Corey Raymond should definitely be kept. Blake Baker deserves a strong look as well.

Joseph leaving makes me a little nervous. I don’t think it was Kelly’s fault that he left and I am sure someone is in his ear letting him know you better have a coach on staff that the coaches in Nola have a great relationship with. I just hope Kelly understands how important it is.

I think coach Kelly knows what he’s doing and doesn’t need you to tell him what he needs to understand

Your sense of self importance as compared to a coach who has won at 4 previous stops over 31 years is truly baffling

BK is a professional who has done this part of the job before and been successful. I trust that he knows what he is doing and will hire the best staff he possibly can. If that means keeping or letting people go, that's literally his job and he is one of the best at it.

There will likely be a few holdovers once Kelly vets those guys and starts that relationship

I just watched the 2019 NC game , remember the one with the "RETARD" FOR A COACH !

TO ALL YOU MOTHERfrickERS WHO USE RETARD, RETARDED, or any of these words in a manner NOT SUITABLE , My Brother is 54 with the brain of a 5 yr old but MORE HEART THAN HALF YOU frickERS ! I can assure you O is not mentally challenged, and if I wasn't an LSU Fan I really wish they would NEVER WIN ANOTHER GAME ! And my Brother is not a retard and I would not trade him for any of you fricks ! Not all of you but...

To Whom it may Concern !

See here’s your problem. The media and academics have made “retard” a bad word when in history was not and still really isn’t.
The word retard means slowed, stunted, delayed, etc and is exactly what you describe if your brother.
I have a retarded family member who means the world to me but he and we don’t let a word bother him.
The use of “special needs” is not any better or worse than “retarded”

I really do think BK will have us in the playoffs in a few years consistently. When he gets access to Louisiana boys year end and year out we will contend. I think BK is about as close to Saban as you can get. I also think he has fire in his belly to win a natty otherwise he would not have left ND.

I agree. If he was retarded he wouldn't have been able to put together the GREATEST CFB TEAM IN HISTORY.

And then IMMEDIATELY tank it once almost all of the aspects that remained from the Miles staff were gone.

From 17-19 Ed did not meddle in the defense. It remained Aranda's scheme/approach. How do we know this? Because as soon as Aranda left Ed talked about wanting to have an "attacking" 4-3 defense like the teams he coached with at USC and Miami. He changed the defense and immediately took LSU from a top 1/3rd defense to the worst in the country. One that was perpetually confused all season long. You could have chalked that up to the fact he made a horrible DC hire when he brought on a guy (Pelini) who had zero market demand...until LSU's defense looked just as bad with a new DC at the beginning of the next season. The defense showed some improvement under Jones, but was still far from good. Then Ole Miss blows out LSU.

Ed, being the football savant that he is, then tells the world Lane Kiffin told him after the Ole Miss game his defensive approach was stupid and predictable. The VERY next game, vs one of the better offenses in football, LSU abandons O's assinine approach and suddenly looks like one of the most dominant defenses in the country for the first time in almost two years...while fielding a unit with several 2nd team guys!

On offense Ed knows little to nothing. At various points after he was named the permanent HC he told reporters he was going to run a "spread" offense...then a "pro style"...then he hires a guy (Canada) who really ran neither (generally speaking). 3 games into the season he didn't like his hire. He mandates the offense be changed for the first half of the Troy game, ultimately leading to one of the more embarrassing losses in LSU history. He eventually fires his OC and names as the new OC...a guy who was reluctant to take the job! More than that, he was a guy from the previous staff that was so deficient offensively it led to the former HC being fired.

Following THAT season, Ensminger recognizes LSU has to evolve and recommended bringing in a guy (Brady) to help him. It was Ensminger's lack of ego that led to 2019 as much as anything. What culminates is a tremendous season. Then, sitting on top of the college football world with nearly unlimited funds to hire the "best coordinators", Orgeron hires TWO coordinators who are well past their primes who no one else in football was considering hiring. LSU follows up 2019 by posting their worst record in 20 years!

Not to be outdone, Ed then hires a OC who can run the "Joe Brady offense"...even though Ed couldn't tell anyone what exactly is the "Joe Brady offense". He also hires a DC, who had never been a major college DC before, to run Ed's beloved 4-3 defense that wasn't worth a shite the year before. He then turns in yet ANOTHER .500 season.

My apologies to those who have special needs family members. Calling Ed a retard is an insult to actual retarded people

Sir I understand your frustration and know that term is taboo. If I have ever posted (don’t think I have) I sincerely apologize. There are a plethora of other words to describe people with a fully capable brain and choose not to use it.
