LSU was tight tight with money and as grandaddy used to say, "You get what you pay for..." and we did. We also went on the cheap for Curly Hallman. The reason Southern Miss was winning, and got Hallman the job, was the USM QB was Brett Favre. Curly was a bad hire. Those were some rough years. And we might as well throw in Mike Archer. Vietnam flashback on those years.
