Winning season at Vandy was nearly impossible. He had some impressive wins there…
I remember he took over a multi year 1-10 Vandy and knocked off ranked Georgia and Ole Miss teams. I think he also won 3 bowls when he was there.

He never won a bowl game at Vandy. Ironically it was rumored at the time that he was being groomed to be the HC at Notre Dame.

The worst part? That one win Vandy got in 1990 (prior to Dinardo) was against LSU, when the Tigers got called for offensive pass interference on a completed Hail Mary pass that would have won the game.
Man, those years were tough.
