When I was working outside early this year at my job in Central Oklahoma, and the actual air temperature was -21°F, I would have put my size 13 insulated steel toe work boots up the arse of anyone who uttered the words "global warming".

The inconvenient truth is that it WAS global warming that enabled extreme, record cold this past February in the South Central US. A strong high pressure system formed over the North Pole; there was unusual warmth and energy underneath that high, which funneled bitterly cold winds southward over the Lower 48--extreme, deadly cold was prevalent over Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas.
