Let me be the first to say on the Rant that LSU shouldn't be #2 over Alabama.
If there were no preseason ranking, Alabama would be there because of their performance and resume thus far.

to who an overrated Clemson team that chokes every single year? No way bama should be this high. they did not score a single offensive touchdown vs tulane and needed two special teams touchdowns to win. #2 in the country? ridiculous. Do i think LSU Should be 2? no, they should be and are a top 7 or top 5 team right now. They still are the defending national champions and are undefeated this year at that.

Correction: Those two quarters were much more impressive than any two quarters that LSU has had so far.

While I agree with your logic, there "IS" a preseason poll and everything else gets based on it. If there were no polls we could play a tournament like basketball, and the SEC would kick some real tail and show the rest of the country what we're made of, but unfortunately there are...polls that is.
Alabama looks strong, but so did Georgia until they played Bama. My point exactly.

Without as much preseason bias LSU should probably be #6 or so (I voted them 6th). Alabama and Penn St have better resume's and Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas have been destroying people.

I'm not wearing crimson colored glasses here so bare with me.
First off, yes, Clemson was overrated, but the first game of the year to come out and flat out DOMINATE them from start to finish is a little impressive. We helped make Clemson loke overrated. I remember about 85% of the LSU fans on here saying we would get beat and about 50% saying we would get destroyed.
Second, we did score an offensive TD against Tulane. If you are gonna post facts, make sure they are accurate.
Third off, YES, we did have a little let down after the big game in ATL. We still won by 2 TDs. Alot of teams do. Look at LSU's game against SAD 1-4 Mississippi State. They racked up 24 on you and you only won by 10.
Fourth off, now that we beat UGA, they are highly overrated. I know a few were saying that from the get go, but MANY that were saying Bama would be killed by them now say they are overrated.
Fifth off, how in the world can you not say you BARELY escaped with a last minute win over an OVERRATED Auburn team ? 3-2 win over State. Lucky turnover in the endzone for a TD and a win over a PATHETIC 1-3 UT team.
All in all, what Bama has done in the first 5 games>>>>>>>>>>what LSU has done in their first 5.
I'm not saying we might slip up and could still be a 3 loss team or more and I KNOW I KNOW, LSU IS GONNA BEAT OUR SKULLS IN AT TIGER STADIUM AND IT WON'T EVEN BE CLOSE, but for right now, we deserve where we are for what we have done on the field. I don't like it because these are young players and it can go to their heads. We will see how they react come Saturday and if there is another letdown after a HUGE BEATDOWN of UGA on the road against the #3 team in the nation.
