Kelly said that Woodward presented a clear plan to him there that he couldn't resist

So, I'm asking y'all what exactly is the plan?? To win and dominate like Saban is at Bama.

Kelly already has his process on how to win. He's been doing it for 31 years. Woodward will give him the resources that he needs to win championships

Woodward was reading excerpts from the binder.

When Bama started winning and getting national attention, they used the exposure as a springboard to rebrand their academics, especially their out of state talent recruiting. They started throwing out scholarship money to the smartest kids out of state. Then they started getting in those kids and their academic rankings went up, and up across the board. Then they invested in their campus and it looks really freaking good.
Seems like following that path would be a good thing for LSU.

If that is part of their plan, that sounds pretty damn good to me.

Well, that seems like more the "plan", and what I wanted to know. I didn't think it involved just championships and shite, but long term investment in LSU athletically and academically, community, etc.

Woodward's message -
"We want to win more championships and be consistent year in and year out. Coach you are our guy. Here is a 10 year, $100 million contract, plus bonuses and incentives, with 90% of it guaranteed.... to show our commitment to you and our commitment to winning."

Which is why anybody who complains about the money being paid to Kelly is a complete moron. If this hire works out like we all hope, there isn't an amount of money that is too much. If LSU consistently wins big in football, not only does the football program win the entire athletics department wins, TAF wins, academics win.

Step 1: Accept $100 million dollar contract
Step 2: ?????
Step 3: Profit
Step 2: ?????
Step 3: Profit

I’ve said this from the get go. Look at what Tuscaloosa looked like pre 2007 until now. It’s night and day. Imagine having governor, school president, boosters, TAF, AD and head coach all in lock step while succeeding on the field.

Actually it's more like 10.5m guaranteed. 500k bonus in July of every year and 500k for bowl games, which is just 6 wins a year. 10.5m a year

Coach - Have you ever seen this spreadsheet ? It's NFL rosters based on hometown. Look at the LSU recruiting area !
OMG !
Oh, and here's the annual budget for the dept ...

LSU is 14th - last place - among the SEC schools in % of alums that contribute to the university. I’d live to see Coach Kelly become more of a spokesman than were his predecessors on that issue.

I agree 100 percent. It would also be good if LSU could keep the smartest in-state kids. A huge number of the best and brightest Louisiana high school grads are going to Alabama and Georgia. Even Ole Miss.

JBE has been a friend to LSU athletics, his appointments to the BOS have led it to hire Tate, Woodward and to not but in on their hires. It appears that things are set from the top down.
