Trade Possibilities?

I think if you trade for Gafford from Washington and trade B.I. for The Spider D. Mitchell and this team will win it all.

Yeah, Mitchell is not coming here, and if we ever do trade BI, we don’t need to bring a starting caliber player back.
I just wish he would play the same way consistently from game to game man.

I actually think pushing Trey into BIs spot is optimal. Get picks and solid players back.

BI for an athletic big and an unprotected first or two if protected. We don’t “need” him and his fit with our other personnel is questionable.

If we do this, we bank on Zions health, which is really the only option at this point to try and win it all.

If we make the right trade we could still load manage Zion and be ok and hopefully save enough money to keep Jonas on board as well.
Looking towards Detroit, Ingram, Naji and Kira for Ivey, Stewart and Bogi works salary wise, and we could always flip Bogi for expiring salary.
We get an aggressive big that shoots 3’s and could also step in at the 4 if we need to rest Zion, and a primary ball handler to bring off then bench who’s ready made to take over for CJ when he decides it’s time to hang them up or become super 6th man.
Most importantly we add 3 more 37-40% 3 point shooters around Zion, which we can never have enough of.

We're a below .500 team when BI is leading us without Zion.

If Robert Williams had not got hurt, he would have been perfect as the 20 minutes big man off the bench.
A BI trade is very complicated. He is the 2nd best player talent wise but is lost with Zion.

Why are we already talking about trades again?
Because we lost another game on a back to back while not having all our players??

BI is in year 8, he's not a #2. He's never shown any ability to think he could be a #2 on a title team.

Is Trey a #2 option on a title contending team?
What I don’t understand about the logic for trading BI is he’s thought as not being a #2 option on a title team, but y’all are ok with getting solid players and picks for him?
If we trade BI for solid players and picks, who’s our #2 option and how does that make us a title contending team?

The idea is to surround Zion with as many shooters as possible who are not afraid to let it fly and basically make Zion our Cleveland Lebron where you have players 2-15 that can all hit 3’s or defend or do both, that would be all we need to do especially when you have players as good as CJ, Trey and Val and young up and comers like Hawk

Zion is in year 5 . He’s never finished a season. A lot of risk in trading your second best player bc it’s not a perfect fit as of yet .

You mean the Cleveland team with Kyrie Irving as the #2 and Kevin Love as their third best player? Not seeing a lot of similarities between that team and a Pels team post BI trade. We’d look more like Cleveland 2005-2008.

Kyrie shot 32% from 3, scored 19 ppg and 4.7 assists per game. He was not that great that season, he just hit a big game winner everyone knows that skews the view. CJ is more than capable of putting up a better season than that, and he commands the same defensive attention.
Love shot 36% from 3 and scored 16 PPG, Trey has already surpassed that. Trey doesn’t rebound as well, but Jonas can handle that. To add, Jonas is better than their 4th best player, and Herb is better than their 5th best player was, so there’s that.
And every single one of those guys are willing to and have molded their games to fit perfectly around Zion.

If we are trading BI, it’s because we think BI on a max contract is a team killer.
Everyone else is going to think the same thing.
I’m not sure there will be much of a market for BI. He alone can’t change the fortunes of a bad team, and a contending team probably doesn’t have room for that contract going forward.

BI has tremendous value. Everyone in the league knows BI and Z isn't a good fit for years now. It's only a matter of time before we are forced to trade one of them.

I think Ingram should be traded, it’s really unfortunate because of how he seems to like it here, but the fit isn’t there.
I really wish Griffin were in on the Porzingis sweepstakes this past offseason, he would have been perfect, the Celtics didn’t give up a crazy amount to get him. Could you imagine a CJ, Hawkins, Murphy, porzingis, Zion lineup? Teams wouldn’t be able to pack the paint at all. I do think the pelicans need a stretch 5, Myles Turner, maybe?
