Youtube videos showing how to do it abound. Is this something one should do?

I would guess no, but what does the OB say?

I don't like camo shotguns. In like 3 years it will look ugly next to a new one.

I would only do it to like a Mossberg or Rem. 870 or something. Not to an expensive gun. I'm not saying those guns suck, but I wouldn't do it to my Benelli or something similar...

I've thought about it, but really don't see the point. You can get a camp wrap that is cheaper, protects the gun surfaces, and will not damage the gun in any way.

I couldn't image putting tape on my Browning Gold Trigger.

There's always hydrodipping. Thinking about having my 10/22 done.

Mmmm... why would I? I can change the camo wrap to whatever background I am hunting, and it can be used reused more than once easily. You can take the old stuff off and cover water bottles, buckets, whatever.

I did this mainly just to protect rifle from scratches and shite.

So why not just keep it factory? I mean do the animals really care what your gun looks like?

Yeah. me too. And its not "tape". Its like a self cling gauze wrap. It doesn't leave tape residue on your gun.

Meh. I am not all camo crazy. I do think it helps to hide motion a little bit though. As far as the gun goes, its more of a protection thing I guess. When I unwrap my shotgun, it looks like new under there.

I did put a wrap on my Mosin Nagant though, just for looks. Its shredded a little bit and gives it that Enemy at the Gates look.

Only do it on old guns thats beat up. Never a new one never, and the tape is worst thing possible, leaves residue when you take off. Ive sanded down old old beat up 22 before, and painted...looked like a new gun. But never would do it to a expensive or new gun
