Didn’t know Adams had it in him; this will clean up the city for sure!

Mayor Eric Adams announced this week that his administration will begin to install barriers near 1,000 intersections crosswalks across the Big Apple in a bid to improve pedestrian safety by cracking down on illegal parking.

So he's saying that barriers (wallls) work?

Was hoping there were some pics of the barriers, as it seems like blocking the sidewalk at the crosswalk would be a hassle for the amount of pedestrians NYC has especially.

Adams is so much more conservative than any other NYC option

In the article:
It wont be affected by the recently announced budget cuts since they are using materials already used......uh budget cuts means they will cut materials you are already using.
Uh if you were ALREADY using them does this mean the potholes will go unfixed
Uh at the rate of 1,000 per year it will take, according to the article 40 years to complete all crossings.
Businesses say it will impede deliveries, cyclists say it will delay the promises of cycling paths, and pedestrians will be forced to walk around them into the street and into the "blind spots" of drivers trying to cross. Cops cant enforce the parking laws because they are shorthanded. Welcome to NYC.

Well, I don’t know if I believe that. At all. But I get the sentiment, considering he’s gotten sideways with the Democratic powers that be, which is of course typically reserved for Republican on Democrat combat.
What popped into mind when I gave that curious situation some thought was that the Biden administration simply sold him out and shite all over him with their arrogant orders sending illegal immigrants straight to the heart of his city. No discussion, no seeking the mayor’s blessing, not a single care in the world as to the potential negative impacts on NYC. In the blatantly cowardly manner Biden operated in this situation, out of sight, out of mind, and Biden gave it no further thought or care from then on.
But it made Adams life much, much, much harder, made him appear feckless to his constituents, and threatened to forever tarnish his legacy, not to mention possible future political aspirations. So Biden made an enemy of him and in no uncertain terms, he signaled to Adams that he was of no concern. Typical Biden administration blunder and failure to contemplate any potential adverse effects of their actions. They simply get out of bed every morning, are advised of which blazing fire needs some attention, then wing it on how to handle.
**Tl;dr I’m out.

NY doesn’t prosecute…. “no cash bail”
The lawlessness is rampant and many residents are fleeing to other states due to crime and taxes

He's played the race card and said a few stupid things over the past couple years, but aside from that, he's about as close to center/moderate as you'll get from a Democrat. Especially one in deep blue territory.
