Why Opposition to Special Permits for Assault Rifles ?

and extensive vetting? seems like common sense at this point.
1) we are never getting invaded by anyone so don't mention ukraine to me as a reason.
2) if you're worried about the american government turning tyrannical on its citizens and using force....that battle is already lost. america is the strongest military in history. if they want to get you, they will. even if your house is stock piled with machine guns. they will simply send a drone over your house and bomb the shite out of you.

would you also support this for any semi-automatic .223 rounds? because plenty of those on the market that don't look like ARs that are supposedly just as deadly...for shooting deer and hogs
