Just saw the Billy Madison clip of him calling and apologizing to Steve Buscemi and never noticed that ELO's "Telephone Line" was the song in the scene... It fit perfectly and greatly enhanced the scene.

The final scene in Boogie Nights with Diggler in the mirror then "Living Thing" plays is also perfect, one of the bets uses of a song in movie history.

Hell I even found an article about this online, it's uncanny how good ELO songs fit in movies.

Jeff Lynne had Long Black Road, 10538 Overture, plus his then recent remake of 10538 Overture in American Hustle.

The 1977 film Joyride had two main gimmicks:

1) The cast was made up of Hollywood royalty (Desi Arnaz, Jr., Robert Carradine, Melanie Griffith, and Anne Lockhart).
2) It featured ELO songs while the band was at its peak: Tightrope, Can't Get It Out Of My Head, Boy Blue, So Fine, Telephone Line, and Rockaria!

Bonus: Griffith and Lockhart got naked.

And don't forget "Fire On High", the intro, if spun backwards on a record turntable says plain as day: "The music is reversible, but time isn't, turn back, turn back!"

And, it was the theme song for CBS Sports Spectacular...

The three founding members and the keyboardist who jumped on after their first album are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Jeff Lynne is the last of the Traveling Wilburys to be inducted.
