I love living in Louisiana. No disasters like those commies in Cali have to deal with

They’d probably ask the same of us with flooding rains and hurricanes.

Any area of the world has to deal with destructive nature in one form or another
With all due respect, you do realize New Orleans is one of the stupidest cities ever built, right? A bowl in a hurricane zone.

There's plenty of reasons to not live in CA but if I limited myself to places that were safe from natural disasters I wouldn't have much to choose from.
I do think it's unwise for that many people to live in an area with limited freshwater.

Not to mention it’s sinking.

The best and most disaster proof places to live are inhabited with the most extreme types of crazy. Whether it be ultra liberal or ultra conservative
Supremacists. Oregon, Washington, northern Idaho, Wyoming, Montana. All beautiful, abundant natural resources, beautiful landscapes...crazy to the core.

Let me start:
1. Beautiful scenery
2. Strong economy
3. Lots to do from big city activities to wonderful outdoor activities.
There literally is anything you want in California.
You want big city life? You've got LA and SF.
You want medium sized cities? You've got Sacramento, Fresno, etc.
You want mountainous areas? You've got Tahoe and Yosemite areas
You want coastal quiet? You've got hundreds of miles north of SF.
You want upscale coastal? You've got Monterey and Carmel
You want desert areas? You've got Palm springs and the Mojave desert.

The people on this board who live in their little conservative bubbles are cute when they talk about how the rest of the world is.

Never been myself, but from people who have lived there: the weather is beautiful, the landscape in most areas is beautiful. Resources aplenty.
Alot of the people are crazy and the politics suck but there are jobs, esp if you're in tech, agriculture, or entertainment.
As for disasters, ...um, Louisiana...

I have family out west and I’ve been everywhere out there. I’m not saying it’s enough to keep most people from moving, and it shouldn’t, it just isn’t for me. My mom lives in a city in Oregon and those people are insane. The city council acts like it’s their job to babysit the entire population.

I live in WA. Anyone who moved here to avoid natural disaster should have done better research. We could have the 'mega-quake' any time. Not to mention volcanoes.

It doesn't happen often here but when it does it's catastrophic.

My grandpa lived on the southern coast of Oregon all of his 76 years. It’s a tsunami zone. He never got hit by a tsunami. I’d take my chances
