Alleged bad behavior prompts 6th LSU fraternity, Kappa Sigma, to expel members
“The Kappa Sigma Fraternity has received allegations that some of the members of the Kappa Sigma Chapter at LSU may have participated in activities that violated the Code of Conduct of Kappa Sigma Fraternity,” Mitchell B. Wilson, executive director at the fraternity’s international headquarters in Charlottesville, Va., said in prepared statement late Tuesday night.
Four alumni familiar with situation, but not wishing to be identified because they were not authorized by the national office to comment, said the national group sent a committee to Baton Rouge in late January, rented a meeting room at the Louisiana State Police headquarters and interviewed members targeted for expulsion.
".....adding that a lot of those targeted didn’t show up for their interviews."
"A few apparently left voluntarily because the fraternity instituted a drug screening policy earlier this year, said one of the alum."
"The LSU Kappa Sigma chapter is in the midst of building a $6 million house on Dalrymple Drive. The 23,000 square-foot, three story building is expected to house 52 fraternity members and is slated for completion in August."
Sounds like KS will now have a lot of rooms to fill now that Kappa Sigma nationally has instituted a mandatory Drug testing policy for all members of the fraternity and the test will be conducted randomly thoughout the year by national. Smoking weed is grounds for immediate suspension under the new policy so I'm sure the kids are going to be lining up to become members of this fraternity now.

I would've left too.
That's outrageous. You're a college kid, you're supposed to smoke pot.

For a fraternity? That's dumb. Not to mention regressive considering the relaxing attitude towards weed these days.

Kappa Sig nationals are next-level fricking terrible. I had fun for a couple years and made some of my best friends but goddamn that shite got lame pretty quick.

Why are they all being drug tested?

I pledged in 2003 and our chapter had a show cause 3 of the 4 years I was there. Nationals hates the southern chapters that still love to haze and rage.

Didn't police find some prescription drugs at a house that some Kappa Sigma guys were renting? Reading an article, your chapter just finished a probation this happened.

That was part of it. Half the chapter was suspended and we lost our charter for a year and a half I believe.
