last year similar dates we had to take an AA flight that lasted 6.5 hrs with plane changes and layovers. you can damn near see CUN from MSY

google says spirit & SW fly non-stop, i see the spirit flight but not SW. should i grab that spirit NS or wait?

and what happened to the latin american airlines that all used to fly NS from MSY?

Spirit was the only one I am aware of.

I have taken it, and it was fine.

The SWA non-stop is a summer limited flight I believe. We took it this past June/July.

No, I took it in January. It's a once a week flight.

spirit flight was 500 pp round trip
not that bad I guess considering the options

last time we had to change planes and clear passport control in Miami which was an absolute clusterfrick. Happy to avoid that at any price

I take that Spirit flight often.

Its 2 hours you can pay a little more for an exit row. The bag fees suck but I have a carry on size back pack I never get charged for. (They consider all back packs personal items)
If you get a 3 or 4 boarding just line up with 2 anyway. They never check and you'll get an over head bin.
The seats suck, but it's 2 hours. I used to ride to Destin in the back seat of a mustang, I can survive 2 hours in an upright plastic thin pad seat.

You enter Cancun airport and go to the left in customs through the self check in machines. I've only ever talked to Mexican border patrol one time in four trips.

Plus the Spirit flight is around $100 each way. $200 and you have a round trip flight. I've gotten it for $165 before.
It leaves every morning and comes back every afternoon. Making Quintiana Roo a nice weekend destination. I personally go to Isla Mujeres every time. North Beach is by far the best beach around. Has to me top 10 in the world.

The big front seat, while nice plus paying for checked bags puts the flight around $400 so max comfort with bags approaches the price of other carriers.

I've never seen it that high.
The direct flight?

I just picked a random weekend later THIS month.
Leaving a Thursday coming back Sunday.

$75 out $110 back. With the cheap Mexican prices. It's legit cheaper for me to go to Mexico than even Bioloxi for the weekend. $185 rt to Cancun. The fight is so short I can survive exceed the middle seat.
