Late summer trip recommendations

Hi all,
I need to plan a trip in late summer (Late July/Early August) somewhat last minute. Long story but a family member had some health issues and is now cleared for vacation.
We are a family of 5 with 3 kids 17, 15 and 12.
Any suggestions that would be doable being it is kind of last minute?

Flying or driving from where?

Do what I am planning for next year....
Fly into Philly. Take in MLB games in Philly, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Hit Civil War battlefields at Antietum and Gettysburg. Maybe Amish country and the Hershey factory in Hershey. Fly home from Pittsburgh.
If this is too long or daunting, scratch Pittsburgh. Fly in and out of Philly and make a big loop.

Either flying or driving from BR or Nola.
Was thinking, maybe a West Coast trip, flying to California and driving up and down the coast. Maybe San Fran and LA and hitting cool places in between

Take the kids to Montana.

Nola direct to SanFran on United. Spend 2-3 nights in SF - bike the bridge, see Alcatraz, watch out for the homeless and the human shite, Chinatown, catch a Giants game. Then rent car and drive coast for another 3 nights or so. Hit Pebble Beach and Carmel for sure

Fly into Vegas and rent a vehicle…4x if you can get it. Drive through Death Valley and up 395 to Mammoth or Tuolumne, could even go to Lake Tahoe before heading back. There are tons of old mining roads. AirBnB along the way.
