United Club Rant

That’s not exclusive to United.

You can’t access an airline club when you aren’t flying with that airline. Delta does the same thing.

I am flying with United within 24 hours and checked in though.

If I were only flying Delta or outside of 24 hours of my United flight I’d be more understanding.

Delta Skyclub won’t let you in more than 3 hours before your departure.

I’m sorry bud. This is a rarity, but I have to side with the airline on this one.

Yeah I’m not too torn up about it. I like United so it’s all good.

To be honest, a 3 or 4 hour policy makes way more sense but I just looked up United to be sure. It’s just a same day boarding pass.

They need to be.

It doesn’t. I’m sure Delta’s club is the same-way … you enter by scanning your boarding pass. My assumption is as long as you can check-in for your flight you can access the United Club assuming you meet all other requirements.

I have that too. To be honest I didn’t even think of Priority Pass.

Priority Pass has really been diminished though. They have started restricting access (and rightfully so) plus it’s always in the international terminal and quite the hike to get there.

There are arrivals lounges in European and Asian airports that *could* have covered that, but I've run into similar. Flew Biz with family to FRA, but because our connecting flight to CDG was in Economy (in 2.5 hours), I could only get into the lounge with a single guest (due to *A gold), not the full compliment of 3 family members, even though we'd all just flown biz from IAH.

While I haven't looked for an arrivals lounge in the US, I would not expect that to be present in anything other than coastal airports that serve mostly premium business travelers.

I am a wee bit confused why if you're flying out 24 hours later, why you would want to be airside in the airport at MSP for more than five seconds longer than necessary. That kind of stuff, especially in uninteresting locales like MSP are why airport hotels with room service exist. You're in SNN, SEA, or similar, the beer can be worth it. But MSP?

Someone else mentioned Centurion Clubs. Get the American Express for $499 annually. They look at a boarding pass from any airline, your AMEX card and ID and you are in with a guest if you have one.
