Post your favorite Thursday Night CFB memories

Thursday Night Primetime on ESPN has produced some memorable ones. For the sake of this thread, I’ll leave our rivalry week, as there are always classics from Thanksgiving. Any list of all time great ones has to include:
1995: UVa 33, Florida State 28 - the Hoos delivered #2 Seminoles their first ever ACC loss by stopping Warrick Dunn at the 1 on the game’s final play.
2008: Oregon State 27, USC 21 - top ranked USC goes down at the hands of the Rodgers brothers.
You can also pair these two together from 2006...
Louisville 44, West Virginia 34 - this rivalry bubbled up quickly. I would even say it started on the hardwood with an Elite 8 matchup from the previous season. A huge TV audience saw #5 Louisville led by Brian Brohm knock off #3 WVU led by Pat White and Steve Slaton.
Rutgers 28, Louisville 25 - one week later, the #4 Cards blew a 25-7 lead, punctuated when Jeremy Ito nailed a walk off field goal, then pointed at the skycam before being mobbed on the field.
...and a clunker that I have vivid memories watching:
1996: Notre Dame 14, Vanderbilt 7 - season opener for both teams. Irish would wind up 8-3 but skip a bowl, and Vandy would finish 2-9. 3 of those losses were to top 10 teams, but somehow Vandy kept each one within a TD margin, losing to #1 Florida 28-21, and #9 Tennessee 14-7. The Irish were ranked 6th in this contest. The Commodores were up 7-6 late in the 4th before Ron Powlus led a game-winning drive.

A simpler time when sideline tarts knew their role.

Good list.
First game that came to mind was the uva upset.
I also remember Louisville upsetting florida state which i think put them on the map

Is that the one where Mark Sanchez threw his mouthpiece in anger while exiting the stadium?

How could I forget that. Henry Miller running through a rain soaked field in Louisville to seal an OT win.

Those first two are the ones that initially come to mind for me. Didn't Va Tech play a lot on Thursday? I feel like Beamerball and Enter Sandman were a Thursday night thing.

The Rutgers v Louisville game is what put Thursday night football on the map.
The kicker ponting to the skycam is an all-century type CFB image.
The Big East was also always on. I think Corso and Herbsyreit actually used to be the color guys on Thursday nights.
The Larry Coker Miami teams, the Larry Fitz Pitt teams and the Pat White WV teams were staples of the programming.
It's yet another reason why the 00s were the best CFB era of my lifetime.
Thursdays uses to be special, in a really under rated way.

Older brother was James. They came from the Houston area. There was a time where Oregon would also poach Texas for athletes. Lamichael James and Darron Thomas are a couple that come to mind.

They did. Tirico was a PBP guy, then Fowler, then Rece. It’s slipped since then. First PBP was Ron Franklin I think.
And yeah, plenty of Big East action with Tech, Pitt, and Miami.

One of the best radio calls to end a game as well.
"THERE IS PANDEMONIUM IN PISCATAWAY!!!"
