Who is running the show? Orgeron or parents?

I find it very troublesome Orgeron basically letting the parent of a player dictate whether he plays or not, whether he redshirts or not.
Obviously not in the loop, but it looks like O was pressured by a parent to play his son or his son would look elsewhere.
Not a good take on O.

Probably because he's a lame duck and there is absolutely no accountability within the program right now.

Its a shite show.

yep, that's a crock, and I know sometimes if you're dealing with a five star diva in a winning program, you have to put up with the parents but this shite show of a football program doesn't have anyone that falls into that category

Imagine how mad this board would be if it came out that Orgeron pissed off Nussmeierand his family because he played him when he and his family wanted to redshirt on O's way out the door.

I actually like the fact that O is looking out for Nuss and talking to the family. This season is lost and Nuss might need that extra season in the future.

Coach O should have never said a word though about talking to the parents about the situation

My parents are running the show, they are long time season ticket holders.

It's funny how you say a "parent of a player" like it's just some normal guy who knows nothing about football. Doug Nussmeier is a MUCH better football coach than Coach O.

Bet parents of "star" players meddle all the time. O had no business making it public. That's the problem.

this.

i think he worded it as poorly as you can.

basically a decision to redshirt a kid is almost always a discussion with coach, the kid, and the kid’s family. and an agreement is made as to what best for team and kid. So dad being involved is nothing new.

coach just doesn’t normally say “kid’s dad …..”

they absolutely do, and in the old days it was to keep the coaches from killing the kid, grew up down the street from Terry Bradshaw and our families have been close for longer than I've been alive, old Mr. Bill was looking out for Terry even after he'd won multiple Super Bowls, he got his bell rung in the Sugar Bowl(old Tulane Stadium,) during a SB, think it was against the Vikings? and he went straight down to the locker room to make sure they weren't going to shoot him up and put him back in if he was out of it, so there's a parent that was basically pulling his kid out of the game during a SB for his best interest, completely different scenario that we have here
