Although I personally believe all players will receive an extra scholarship year of eligibility if the season Is cancelled, here’s a little food for thought.

University of Memphis QB, Brady White, is a RS 6th year senior. After truly redshirting his 1st year at Arizona State and receiving another year of eligibility due to injury and graduating after his 3rd year of college, he transferred to Memphis where he has started the past 2 season earned his masters degree and has 1 year of eligibility remaining while currently pursuing his doctorate degree.

If the season is cancelled, and he came back next year that would be 7 years of free college for this guy. If he finishes his doctorate degree, will he and other “special situation” players be allow to play 1 more year of college ball without having to go to school? It crossed my mind the other day and wanted to see what rant thought.

Imagine starting your college football career expecting to only stay three or four years and you end up coming out of school with a doctorate.

Good for him.

Not a problem for LSU but how many FBS teams can afford carrying 25 more scholarships next year?

It raises the question, but one would assume that the NCAA will raises scholarship limits to account for these situations. If a program is at 85 now will they raise it to 110?

No shite jackass. Most student athletes don’t have the opportunity to be on a team for 7 years though. Must be mad cause the Huskies ain’t even gonna have a season.

Ah but these are different times. The OP raises a valid point. Not his fault he went through all the education they could offer and still have the ability to play.
