Why is Penny Hardaway getting such good recruits?

Is it because he is a former NBA Star? I saw Michigan hired Juan Howard.. It’s a different angle that hasn’t been used much. What does the rant say about this?

He was a HS coach at a Memphis powerhouse school when he was hired. Well tied in to the Memphis AAU scene. 4 of his 6 signees are from the Memphis metro area. Good players from other places wanted to join and there was plenty of playing time to be offered

Penny recruited high school kids to East high school from around the nation. He won high school national championships. He was a giant in the AAU scene. Memphis is a basketball school. Penny has close affiliation with Nike. Cheating or not. He would’ve been able to get players. I live in Memphis and he is one beloved SOB

Penny has run one of the most successful AAU clubs for the last decade out of the Memphis area. He knows all these kids from the circuit and these kids all know each other. The timing is right for him to capitalize off all the contacts he has.
