Alleva Called Out

Makes a good point: LSU 8th in Directors Cup year before Alleva arrived, this year ranked 29th.

I wasn't aware that Alleva had anything to do with U Club renovation.

I've yet to understand how a national-championship winning baseball coach can draw such ire from a message board, but an athletic director who has never hired a national champion coach in his entire career is above reproach.

Apparantly,he also reads the Rant!

I agree and every one cries about Les. His boss doesn't seem to have a clue IMO.

But other than Johnson and Caldwell and the yet to be named softball coach, has he made any other hires yet? So we go down in the director's cup standings with the same coaches we had several years ago and this is Alleva's fault?

What am I missing?

You are thinking too much. Just stomp your feet and whine like the rest.

$$$

Alleva's job is to make sure LSU Athletics maximizes profit. You can't pin poor performances on the field on him.

I will point once again to the press release from LSU in which THEY tied JA to the performance ON THE FIELD as the reason for his contract extension.

This isnt something the fans brought up.. LSU did.

He agrees Caldwell is over paid.

700K annually for a coach to lead a program with a 2.4 million dollar deficit is crazy.

After stomaching our performance in basketball and baseball are you more likely or less likely to donate to the TAF? After watching this baseball team are you more likely or less likely to donate to the Alex Box Stadium fund?

From LSU and Alleva himself:

LSU:
quote:

“Under his leadership LSU continues to enjoy one of the most prolific and high-achieving athletics programs in America.”

Alleva:
quote:

Alleva said. “LSU is a special place and I thank our great fans for their support and passion. Our goals continue to be to win championships, prepare our student-athletes for the rest of their lives and provide a formula for the future of LSU Athletics. I truly look forward to the years ahead.”

So you and the Reveille both think Caldwell is overpaid.

I am now more convinced than ever that her salary is appropriate....
