Tell me why Brian Kelly isn't getting any credit?

We had the greatest offense ever produced in 2019.
Did you know JD is on the same pace? A little better tbh.
You know, that offense everyone said would never walk through those doors again. Kelly did it in two fricking years.
Kelly got JD to LSU.
The defense is a problem, sure. But give the man credit too if you're gonna sling blame around. Imagine how much shite we'd be in if we didn't have this offense.
Just saying.

There's a poster in a couple other threads saying Kelly should have told Daniels to kick rocks because LSU isn't going to win the title this year.

I haven't been here long but this place is idiotic. The transfer portal isn't a fix all. It takes time. Prime assembled an entire portal team and it still sucks arse.

The transfers are just keeping LSU competitive while the roster is rebuilt.
Think about it: LSU has had both starting corners be transfers for the last 2 seasons because there weren't any on the roster. THAT is where this program was at when Kelly took over.

Kelly is also adamant about he doesn’t want to depend on just the portal as well. Our DBs will be solid in 2 years.

Misses in recruiting? Underclassmen not ready to play yet? You know, things that happen every single year.
Did you expect the staff to go 6 for 6 with recruiting DBs in 2023 and have all of them ready to contribute as underclassmen? Do you know how likely that is to happen? There's a reason there were 5 DB transfers brought in.

100% agree.
I honestly put most of the blame for the defenses short comings on the players.
It’s primarily the missed tackles that are killing us. And while the coaches HAVE to take some of the blame for that, most of that blame falls on the players.

Dude, slow your roll.
I am a huge JD5 fan, but not sold on our Oline just yet.
Let's get past some quality defenses before comparing them to the 2019 team.
Remember, we have not played a decent defense since FSU & they held us to 24 points.

Yeah it sucks. I spent most of the offseason questioning the Daniels, the RBs and the secondary. I was wrong on Daniels and the RBs, but the secondary is even worse that I could have imagined.
Hopefully next year there is some continuity and LSU isn't turning the entire unit over again.
