Wanted to make road-trip to watch LSU-Auburn baseball but sold out

I wanted to take the wife on a short road trip to see LSU play somewhere relatively close. I went to the Auburn website to buy tickets, but they were already sold out for their series in early May.
Do teams usually sell out this early?
Is it because LSU is a big draw?
I’ve never tried to make a baseball road-trip so I don’t know.

Stub hub. It’ll be expensive but should be able to find something if you all are set on going.

Go to the parking deck right next to the stadium and watch from the top floor.

Not surprised with LSU No1 in country.

Yep went there. Not paying $60 a piece for general admission baseball tickets.

Did you think that wasn’t going to inflate like everything else

Playing #1 ranked team is a big draw anywhere in SEC so expect sellouts on the road.

Yet you are willing to spend at least twice as much as that on gas and another $120 on a decent hotel room, not to mention eating out at least twice.
So, when looking at making a “relatively short trip,” $60 per ticket is the least of your problems.

It’s because it’s graduation weekend at Auburn. Good luck finding a hotel.

We got tickets for Friday and Saturday, $10 a seat per game. Staying in Columbus. Lots going on that weekend in Auburn. Keep looking. If it isn't to far, just show up and watch from right field or the parking deck.

Things the never ever happen anymore……….sell outs. They’ll be plenty online. Go have fun.

$60 isn’t bad. Last year pre-season I tried to buy tickets for LSU at Moo U - $150 for standing room only. Of course by the time the game actually got here . . .

Just wait till week of to buy tickets. Auburn will likely suck. Those tickets will be less than $30 by game day

Well, we are going to make a short spring road trip somewhere anyhow. Incorporating the baseball game was a last minute add on. But paying $120 for 2 general admission tickets to a game isn’t worth it to me. I’m not a huge baseball fan anyway.
I’d much prefer spending the money on golf.
My main purpose for posting this was to know if games selling out this early was normal.

Just curious, what is your max spending for a college baseball ticket?
As others have said, if you wait until the week of, or perhaps the day of, the price should drop considerably.
For example, I wanted to take my son to the A&M Saturday game. When I looked Monday on Stubhub, the lowest price for a ticket was $80 for GA. I looked again on Friday, and I found two tickets for $32 a piece, and those were located in the grandstand, in between third and home.
My advice is head that way, and if tickets do not drop, go play at a Robert Trent Jones golf course, and all will be well.

Just walk up and it should be like $10 the day of the game

I was simply expecting the games to not be sold out and paying the usual $20 a ticket

Thanks. I appreciate this
