Pick 3 Defensive Linemen (2022 vs 2023)

Are we better this year than we were last year?
If you’re drafting these guys, would you rather have the 3 players from 2022 or the three from 2023? Tell us your reasoning, so we can have a good discussion.
There will be four “Pick 3” posts, including the following position groups:
• Cornerbacks
• Linebackers
• Defensive Linemen
• Wide Receivers
Notes:
• Mekhi Wingo is the only returning starter included in the Pick 3, but I list him because he played the same DT position as Maason Smith last season.
• Players were chosen because they correspond in some way (from left to right) to the other guys. Maybe they play the same position; maybe they both transferred from a small school; maybe they were/are true freshmen; or maybe they were both considered to be the #1 option.
• Some players were not listed (i.e., Harold Perkins) because they will have been starters for both seasons. Some positions are not considered because they are either too similar to last year (QB, HB, OL, TE) or they are too obvious for a vote (Jack).

too early to say. Are Smith and Jefferson(transfer) 100%? can the Zona transfer contribute? too many questions at this point but if the answer is "yes" to all 3, then this year should be better.

Ehhh I’ll take 2023
Jones is an upgrade over Gaye
Guillory is a downgrade from Roy
Smith‘s potential makes him an upgrade over Wingo

Smith is the team’s best DL and Wingo is 2nd. Over both years. So this year, because Smith is healthy

We are obviously going to be better on the Dline this year compared to last year. My question is why is Wingo not carried over to this year? Not only are we returning our best D-lineman, but you are adding what would have been our best D-lineman last year if he played. Plus there will be better depth this year.
PS- not trying to belittle what Ojulari and Gaye accomplished last year, but if we are talking about "drafting" there is a reason why they are questionable Day 2 picks.

Saivion Jones is a huge upgrade over Ali Gaye. We saw him slowly start taking reps from Gaye last year and started seeing him blossom. I expect big things from Jones this year

2023 just for the fact that Maason Smith is going to be healthy and playing. Difference maker.

Give me 2023 if Smith is healthy.

You get an A in effort, but an F in execution.
Come on man! Wingo is going to be a starter in 2023 just like he was in 2022. With Smith back, it's a no brainer that 2023 is significantly better than in 2022.
