I don’t think location would matter..

It hasn’t always translated to SECT titles for them though.

The next time SC would play outside the state is the Final Four. They'll host the first two rounds and the regional is in Greenville as well.

Hopefully NOLA can host soon. With Texas and Oklahoma coming wouldn’t mind seeing it in the DFW area.

It’s been there a long time… I took my daughter there back when Seimone was at LSU. Class act, Seimone, she stopped to give my daughter her autograph.

Neither Dawn Staley nor Kim Mulkey put any emphasis on winning that event UNLESS it is needed to make the NCAA's. Kim said this past week that LSU will not go up or down in NCAA seeding no matter what happens in the SEC Ty.

So much for a centralized location. UT and USCe must be loving this.

SEC has contracted Greenville for 3 years, through 2025. SEC was in Nashville before that.
My contact in the SEC Office says very few arena's bid on that event. Nashville, Chattanooga, Gwinnett County, GA, and Greenville are your choices. Those four sites are convenient to the majority of fans who attend that event.

Greenville is a whole nother part of the state from Columbia. Unless you're talking Furman University, no one really has a home advantage there.

Fun fact: Greenville, SC is actually closer to the University of Georgia's campus than it is to USCe

Greenville, SC is only a 1.5 hour drive from Columbia where Carolina is located. It is easy and convenient for Carolina fans who cover the state. It would be similar to LSU playing in Alexandria. BIG advantage for the Cocks although there will be plenty of Tennessee fans there as well.
Even though UGA is also close by, they simply do not have the fans that UT and USCe have. That was even true when the SEC Ty was played in Gwinnett County, GA.
