SEC runner up should always get Sugar

Makes zero sense for the #2 team in the conference not to go to the Sugar Bowl when the champ goes to CFP.

And all of that will be a non factor when 32 teams get in the playoffs 10 years from now

Feels bad man. Would have rather just gone back to pre-BCS era.

$$$$$. The networks want their golden teams in year after year.

Yep. Just would make sense for them to have to take the runner up if champ is in playoff.

SEC runner up is going to Sugar Bowl. Alabama #5 in CFP final poll. After that you have Tennessee.

Don’t lose to FSU and A&M and you’re in the sugar bowl.

LSU not really a “runner up” with higher ranked and better resumes at Alabama and Tennessee.

A four loss team aint Sugar worthy
Don’t lose to a shite A&M team and we’d be there
Losses have consequences

New Orleans doesn’t want LSU make a lot less money

Bama always travels well and K-State will bring a lot of fans. NOLA will be overrun with fans wearing purple...it just won't be us.

BAMA only got 2 losses….higher ranked….it is only fair….and it will be a very good game!

LSU is by definition the SEC runner-up. We made the championship game and lost. That makes us second in the conference, regardless of W/L or any other polls.

I agree with you, but at the same time, I don't. I don't think that you should be penalized for losing the game. Now, if you win your division and have 3 losses already and teams from the other division have 2 losses and aren't playing in the SEC title game, they should go. In this case, all 3 teams had 2 losses. The SEC game knocked us to 3, so we should've been in consideration. We would've missed out on it because of our 4th loss which is non-conference, so it still worked out anyway this year, but if it were an '05 situation again, yea, I could see that.

I agree especially about losing to A&M but Auburn played in the Sugar Bowl in 2016 after finishing 8-4. They didn’t even play in the SECCG. I don’t think we should be penalized for winning the division and having an extra loss in the conference title game.

Sugar Bowl goes to highest ranked SEC team outside of the playoff (this year Alabama with 2 losses) rather than a 4 loss SEC championship runner up (LSU). That’s the way it should be. The team with the best record & highest ranking gets rewarded.

shows how little you know. if two teams play for a conference Championship, 1 team becomes the Champions and the other team is the runner up. has nothing to do with the College playoffs .
